Journey Advantage Network Hits a house Run with regard to ALS

Travel Advantage Network, a vacation accommodations program, devoted charitable efforts throughout the month of February to the ALS Association (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), also known as the Lou Gehrig's Disease.

"My brother was diagnosed with ALS in 2010 and I have since watched him battle with this terrible disease, all the while keeping a smile on his face. I want to help get researchers one step closer to finding the cause and a cure for ALS," said Michele Sartain, Travel Advantage Network accounts payable specialist.

Every month, a Travel Advantage Network employee selects a charity for the company to support and plans events for employees to participate in to help raise funds for that cause.

To raise funds, Sartain held several silent auctions which included baseball tickets to an Orioles game, passes to the Sports Legends & Babe Ruth Museum in Baltimore and Ripley's Believe it or Not® tickets. There was also a Fat Tuesday bake sale, pay-to-wear-jeans to work day and raffles for gift cards, movie passes and a Kindle Fire HD.  Over $1,500 was raised for the ALS Association through the Travel Advantage Network monthly charity initiative.

"The amount of support I received from my fellow employees and the company has been truly wonderful.  It has meant so much to my family that we are able to help raise awareness and funds for ALS with the support of Travel Advantage Network," explained Sartain.

Travel Advantage Network has been dedicated to charitable giving since its inception. In 2012, the company raised more than $15,000 for various local and national charities. For more information about Travel Advantage Network and its monthly charitable efforts
