Oetker Collection Expands to Seychelles with Fregate Island Private Jul 23rd 2013, 17:08

Oetker Collection, the growing boutique luxury hotel group, has added yet another high-end resort property, Fregate Island Private in the Seychelles. The move comes seven months after Oetker unveiled plans to develop a luxury ski resort, L’Apogee Courcheval in France, and roughly a year after Oetker added another island resort, Hotel Saint-Barth Isle de France in St. Barths.

Oetker has signed a management contract with Fregate Island’s owners to promote the property effective July 2013. The resort occupies an entire private island in Indian Ocean. It has 16 residences, ranging from 400 to 700 square meters, each with their own luxurious terrace, private infinity pool and Jacuzzi. Guests also have access to seven beaches.

Fregate Island’s also home to the second largest population of Giant Aldabra Land Tortoises. Many birds also take up permanent or temporary residence in the island. Food at the resort features organic vegetables and fruits grown on the island’s plantation. The line of Rock Spa products, named after the hotel spa facilities, is made from the plants harvested on site.

“Fregate Island Private is in perfect harmony with the requirements of Oetker Collection: exceptional environmental settings, overall wellbeing, exquisite décor and incomparable service,” said Oetker CEO Frank Marrenbach. Fregate Island will continue to be operated under General Manager Paul van Frank.

After L’Apogée Courchevel, which is set to open in December 2013, Fregate Island will be the eighth property in the Oetker Collection, which also includes Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa in Baden-Baden, Germany; Le Bristol Paris; Château Saint-Martin & Spa in Vence on the French Riviera; Hotel du Cap Eden-Roc on Cap d’Antibes, also on the French Riviera; Hotel Saint-Barth Isle de France; and Palais Namaskar in Marrakech, Morocco.
